Last Post For A While?
I am thinking about giving up Tumblr and Facebook for the next couple of months until I am back in the states. This is to make my time more enjoyable in the few months I have left in Europe. That being said, I still wish to stay in contact with those close to me. If you would like to reach me at any moment, contact me through these means: E-mail: ahmad5@illinois.edu   apotandarobot@gmail.com ...

This Song's Lyrics Always Bring Me Up
All the times we have shared and all the memories I have,  brought me back to square one.  Now I’m running on empty.  Only you could pick me up,  without thinking twice,  and you wrapped your arms around me.  When we find truth inside ourselves,  it’s hard not to run away.  But we must capture and embrace.  It’s how we truly live our lives.  We will be everything we have been...

fountainnotmountain: DFW, unlike many of his po-mo peers, was ultimately an earnest sentimentalist, albeit one with a massive, arcane vocabulary and highbrow pretensions: Among nonmembers of the literary in-crowd, there tends to be no controversy about Wallace’s greatness as an essayist—everyone agrees that… He is by far the greatest author to have ever lived, and died. I wish he...

Tennessee Can Suck My Balls →
Tennessee legislature tries to make it a crime to practice Sharia Law in that state. Anybody found to violate this law (i.e. practice the basic tenets of Islam) will be subject to 15 years in prison. This is starting to sound a lot like the Middle East. That’s right, Tennessee, Missouri, and Oklahoma, you are no more noble than the dictatorships of the Middle East.

I Have a Goal
To finish a novel that I’ve started by the end of summer. Just a rough draft, not the final version. I have been writing an outline, which I hope to have completed in the next few weeks. Then it’s just a matter of hammering out the pages, filling in spaces, destroying paragraphs, reviving dead ones, and then printing out the pages to be read and edited by anybody who wants to. Then I...

– H.G. Wells, The Croquet Player I love this quote. It goes hand in hand with the overwhelming volume of information, necessary and unnecessary. It applies more so today than it did back when this was written. It will become even more powerful in the future.
